Energy, Focus & 39th Birthday :)

As I approach my 39th birthday this weekend I am trying to focus on a few things.  Focus is a huge thing I’m trying to work on, since it seems also attached to my energy or lack there of.  I know what I need to do, but my head has been pulled in many directions that at the same time I’m tired of being tired.  I need to step up my yoga, breathe & be more patient in certain situations & get my energy back.  I know I need these things in my life to help with my personal well being & to be more present for my family, work on my crafting business &  learn what I need to, to keep blogging which is my new love in life.  I may not know much, but it’s something that I’m learning & growing with in small steps so far.  I have a great foundation in awesome friends that have been helping me technically & a very patient husband that hears about many different things that he could normally care less about, lol.   Hopefully the more I learn, the more I can contribute to my family & friends & community around me.  There are so many ideas I have for this blog & I hope I can stay motivated & keep moving right along in many different ways & who knows where this will take me.  Thanks to whoever is reading this & learning along with me too.  Hang in there in my early stages & I’ll keep typing away in hopes that every post gets better & better with my new knowledge, focus & energy 🙂 That is what I hope to accomplish with NutMeg Creative Cafe & the life I’m trying to create around it.  Thank you again & bring it on 39!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m adding this video that I’ve been watching this week to infuse some energy into my life.  As I am learning my “techiness” (that’s a word right?) This is the only way I know how to embed this fab video from Sia right now.  What music or videos help with your energy? Feel free to give me your suggestions & I’ll add them into my newly energized life.

Have a great weekend!!!

New Whole Foods Markets opening

So this happened this past week 🙂 An exciting new Whole Foods Market location right in our neighborhood.  It’ s huge & so many things are brand new specifically for this location.  Anything from made to order on the spot salad dressings, peanut butters, a certified Kosher meat section, plus the ever so cool 21 day curing meat section too that my husband was excited about and so much more.  Someone informed me that they have LED lighting that’s extremely environmentally friendly.  We got to tour before they opened & they made it a fundraiser to raise money towards Sustainable Cherry Hill & Cherry Hill school district.

One of the biggest & best in my opinion is their focus on sourcing LOCALLY 🙂 They are passionate about supporting local farms, and small & large businesses.  My favorite is a section called The Hatchery.  This is where local vendors can sell their products in an area made just for them.  I guess the success of the Marlton location vendor nights outside of their store has gone so well that they are more than glad to offer this inside of their stores & I can’t wait to get my crafts in there.  I need new inventory & I’ll be contacting them as soon as I can.

Looks like I need to set up a “meeting” here so I can give my honest opinion on Fresh Brick Oven Pizza!!!! Yay 🙂

This is an absolute dream!!! An over the top Bath & Beauty section!!! They have everything they need to make specific products that work for you! I’d love to create some girls/moms day out event soley around this section, hehe.  That’s how much I love this area!!!

Love this upcycled bottle chandelier!

Here’s who got to set up in the Hatchery in it’s opening week.  (Hatchery photo courtesy of Whole Foods)

They also have their own artists making the fantastic signs that are displayed in all parts of the store.  Creativity at it’s finest!

A group of young steppers from Camden were there! So much fun energy at 8:30 in the morning!

I’d love to figure out what & how to serve these with

I love unique produce!!!

Instead of a ribbon cutting, they have a break the bread ceremony.  It was the warmest & freshest & Biggest chalah I’ve ever seen!! Soooo good.

Nice touch huh?

So this is just the beginning of having a great new energetic business in the Ellisburg Shopping Center.  I am looking forward to what I can learn through them & who I can meet as well from the neighborhood.  I’ll let you know about my success of getting into the Hatcher.  Meet me for a fresh cup of coffee there soon!

Dinosaur Planter

HI! I haven’t been very active on here but I know I need to be & since this is something I really enjoy, I really want to be more active! I’ve been joining some online groups to help with motivation.  But in all honesty it was this little rubber dinosaur that costs $.25 that sparked some fun creativity with me this week.  I’ve been wanting to do this project & thanks to town wide yard sales I found this dino & I just had to do this project this week! It’s also perfect for my brother in law since he’s a dinosaur enthusiast. The Tyrannosaurus Rex is his favorite so that’s why I picked this particular guy as well.  Below are the tools needed to make the planter.  I did end up using a different pot, but everything worked out perfect in the end 🙂

Silly obligatory dino selfie.  Rawr!!! & also reminding myself I need a professional blog pic too!

I drilled holes in the bottom for drainage in the dino & the little pot I used too.

I used a sharpie to make an outline to show me where I need to cut for the pot’s hole.

Here’s the after pic of cut out hole.  It was really easy if you have a really good blade! Please be very Careful!!!!

I added some small stones in the bottom & I have awesome compost now for our local township public site.  (Yay for yard waste recycling!)

Like A Glove!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

Thanks to Michael Bruce florist in Collingswood I got a really neat Bromeliad plant! That’s the tall one in the center.  I had other little leafy plants to add to the mix too.  I’ve seen succulents as the popular addition to this planter but this is what I had on hand this week.

Cool project, right? Have a great day & see you all again soon
